COMPETITOR FAQs: 

Q. I WANT TO COMPETE! HOW DO I REGISTER?
A. Registration to compete starts June 2 at 10am at Nepenthe Homebrew. Registration fee is $20 and includes a bag of 4 mystery ingredients that you must use to compete, plus ONE additional guest ticket to the Hopped event. Registration is limited to the first 20 competitors and is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Our competitions tend to fill up fast so get here early!
 
Q. WHAT SIZE BATCH DO I NEED TO MAKE? 
A. We recommend 5 gallons. You'll want your beer to last the length of the competition - the more people who get to try your beer, the more votes you'll get!

Q. DO I HAVE TO USE ALL FOUR MYSTERY INGREDIENTS?
A. Yes! The challenge is to make the best beer you can with all the ingredients you're given. Be creative! All the ingredients ARE usable, you might just need to think about how to incorporate them.  

Q. I'M NOT AN ADVANCED BREWER, CAN I STILL COMPETE? 
A. Of course! Our competitors always vary in terms of experience. The ingredients will be challenging, but don't let that deter you. As long as you're comfortable brewing a batch of beer, you should be able to work with these ingredients. We've had new brewers win our competitions in the past!   

Q. CAN I PLEEEEEEASE KNOW WHAT THE INGREDIENTS ARE IN ADVANCE?
A. No matter how much you beg, how many times you email or call, we won't crack. It's a surprise! (But follow us on Instagram to get some clues)

Q. IF I'M COMPETING DO I GET TO BRING A GUEST?
A. Yes. Each registered competitor will get ONE complimentary ticket to give to a guest of their choosing. If you would like more people to attend, have them buy a ticket. 

Q. I'M BREWING WITH A PARTNER, CAN WE BOTH BRING SOMEONE?
A. One brewer will be registered as the competitor and the other is considered to be their complementary guest. Additional people will have to purchase a ticket to attend. 

Q. I JUST WANT TO ATTEND, DO I HAVE TO SHOW UP ON JUNE 2?
A. No. Registration is only for competitors. Tickets to attend will be available for purchase on June 9.  

Q. WHERE CAN I BUY A TICKET TO ATTEND?
A. Ticket sales begin on June 9. A link will be provided via social media and on the Nepenthe Homebrew website (www.nepenthehomebrew.com), and tickets will be available to purchase in-store. Only 150 tickets will be available, so grab yours fast!

Q. HOW WILL I BE SERVING MY BEER?
A. If you are bottling, make sure you chill your bottles before arriving. It's a good idea to bring a cooler to keep your beer cool while you serve. If you are kegging, bring your co2 and dispensing equipment along with your keg, which should also be chilled before arriving. We will provide ice, but you'll need to provide a tub to keep your ice in. 

Q. DO YOU NEED VOLUNTEERS FOR THIS EVENT? 
A. At this time we have all the help we need. If we need volunteers it will be announced via social media.
