We are seeking a creative Head Chef to join the Nepenthe team! You'll lead a small but busy kitchen in a casual atmosphere with a focused, rotating menu of creative seasonal pub-style cuisine. 

- Experienced sous chef or lead line cook in a high volume restaurant
- Has formal training or similar work experience
- Has proven management skills
- Extremely motivated with a strong work ethic
- Professional and flexible
- Highly organized and dependable 
- Good communication and leadership skills
- A self-starter who can work independently
- Ability to work collaboratively with our head brewer for pairings and culinary-inspired beers
- Strong beer knowledge and palate for beer preferred, but we will train the right candidate 

- Develop menu items
- Hire and train kitchen staff
- Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations
- Manage kitchen staff and scheduling
- Establish and enforce SOPs and cleanliness standards
- Order, receive, and maintain inventory 
- Control food and labor costs
- Control food quality and standards
- Monitor sanitation and cleanliness of the kitchen and prep area
- Work on the line
- Ensure regulatory compliance
- Acquire and maintain all necessary certifications
- Demonstrate flexibility and ability to roll with the punches
- Understand and uphold our company culture of integrity with a focus on a positive guest experience
- Collaborate with head brewer and other personnel to develop menu and pairings
- Sample new beers with us!
