I want to compete! How do I register?
Register at Nepenthe Homebrew, online by clicking here, or by phone (443)438-4846. The registration fee is $25 and includes an additional guest ticket to the Baltimore Craft Beer Festival.

Will I have to attend the event in order to compete?
You are responsible for serving your beer at the event, whether it's you or a surrogate (though it helps to interact with attendees and discuss your beer - you are the best person to do that!)

How much beer should I bring?
We recommend a minimum of 5 gallons of your entry beer.

What kind of beer can I make?
The theme of this competition is "Harvest Ales," so be inspired by the fall season when you decide on your recipe!

Can I make a cider?
Sure!

How many beers can I enter?
Only one beer may be entered per registration. If you'd like to serve a second beer, please register a second time.

Who will be judging the beer?
There will be crowd-judging by event attendees as well as an impressive panel of esteemed judges comprised of head brewers and brewing professionals.

What prizes will the winners receive?
Lots of brewers will walk away with a prize! Prizes include gift cards, VIP tickets to events, brewery tastings, brewery swag, and more! The grand prize winner will also be a guest judge at the prestigious Comptroller's Cup in addition to other prizes.

How will I serve my beer?
We will provide ice and table space for you to serve your creation, the rest is up to you. Bring a cooler or container to store the ice to keep your bottles or keg chilled. We have found that a creative display goes a long way when it comes to appeal! Have fun with signs and props - however you want to "sell" your beer is up to you! You'll have approximately 3-feet of table space.

I want to attend (and vote)! Where can I buy tickets?
Entry to the homebrew competition is an add-on to the regular admission ticket to this event. Tickets can be purchased by visiting www.baltimorecraftbeerfestival.com.

Is there more information about this event?

Yes, we will be sending out an email to all competitors with all the info they'll need closer to the event.
